I just completed an estimate for a customer who recieved another estimate from one of those basement wall system companies. I can not believe what those people charge. I can build a 16 by 24 room addition for what they charge to install panel’s with moderate electrical work in a 900 sq. ft. basement. I wounder how many people fall for there high pressure sales tactics. Please feel free to share your experiences good or bad. I would love to hear them. Thankyou!

Matt, I have a need to remodel my home and make it ADA compliant. Presently their are two stories. The first floor is a flat 2500 square ft area that has a family room, dining room, kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bath. A garage with a step down area to get to the garage.
The second floor area has 1 long bedroom 30x 20 and another bedroom 12x 10 with 1 bathroom.
There is a loft that overlooks the first floor. I want to utilize the second floor as my bedroom by putting an elevator from the first floor to the second floor.
Presently their is a spiral staircase that cannot be used as ASDA compliant nor can I go up the spiral staircase.
Here’s the question:
I am due to have spine surgery at the end of the month. I am a diabled veteran and I lost my lower motor control about three months ago.
I will be in a wheel chair after the surgery. I need to have my home become ADA compliant.
All the floors through-out the the home do not have any floor covering (tile/Carpet) on them. That was the last thing we would have done before I bcame very ill and in need of this spine surgery.
Presently I am not living in the home due to my health but I want and need to live in my home.
This project cannot take a long time to complete either.
This contract will be extensive but since you say you have good prices I feel that perhaps the VA will listen to you with making my home what I need to be living in. At a cost they will approve.
I’m concerned that the VA will reject the ADA cost because it will be extensive.
Can you help?
